Kent Nymam

Kent and Carol Nyman started square dancing in 1976.  Kent called at the club amateur night in November of 1983.  He taught his first beginner class in the fall of 1984 and has been calling ever since.  He has called full-time for four clubs, Lace & Levi’s, Bridgerland Squares, Wild Bunch and Rainbow Squares for a number of years.

Kent recorded his first square dance record in 1988 on the Ute label.  He has recorded a number of records and tapes on the Ute Recording and Desert Recording labels.  Kent has served as President of the Northern Utah’s Callers Association and is a member of the American Callers Association.

The Nyman’s spend a lot of weekends traveling, calling for special dances for clubs and associations.  He has called on cruise ships and  in foreign countries.  Kent’s first love is his wife Carol and their family.  His second love is calling square dances.  Kent and Carol make their home in Providence, UT.
